"Viva la Pepa" is a story that burns with the passion of a stormy night, aches with the lingering tragedy of a scandalous accident, and smolders with secrets that can never be revealed.
At the center are our three "Pepas": Pepita, her mother, Pepa, and Pepas’s best friend, Mari Pepi. On their separate journeys of self-discovery, they find in each other the strength to prevail.
The Storm: Our story begins as Pepita and a friend are rescued from a violent storm by two handsome young men. One of them, Luis Raul Graziani, is overcome with mad desire for Pepita. Frightened away by his wild advances, she is rescued by the dashing policemen Luis Angel Perdomo. From this day forward, she must choose between the different way each has captured her heart.
The Accident: Seven years earlier, the same Luis Raul Graziani is guest of honor at a sexual coming-out party thrown for him by is father, Ulises. The party begins with a wild car ride involving Ulises, Luis Raul, a young friend, and three call girls. It ends with a tragic accident that leaves three of them dead, and Luis Raul believing he is impotent.
The Secrets: Less violent but equally important events add intrigue. Pepa believes that her hero nad lifetime lover will not marry her because he has eyes for other women. Mari Pepi, a successful doctor, is the secret mistress of a famous psychiatrist who coldly offers her just enough to keep her for himself – and nothing more. The most shocking secret of all belongs to officer Luis Angel Perdomo. Responding to the accident that cripples young Luis Raul, he finds that one of the dead call girls is Selene – until that moment Luis Angel’s pure and perfect girlfriend. The shock of a world so completely shattered reminds us that, in "Viva la Pepa", all is not always as it seems.
